You must show a government recognized form of identification such as:

Driver's License Passport Government Issued I.D. with Picture and I.D. Number U.S. Military I.D. with Picture and I.D. Number Inmate I.D. issued by the State Department of Corrections, but only to prisoners in custody Foreign Passport stamped by the U.S. Department of Immigration and Naturalization

The primary function of a notary is positive identification of the documents signer verifying that the person who signed the document is in fact, the person named in the document. Notaries are not responsible for the content of the documents.  The Notary does not certify the truthfulness, accuracy or validity of the document that is notarized.

DO NOT sign the document(s) ahead of time. All signers must sign the documents in the presence of the notary.
